Dilution & Safety

Store bulk lemon oil sealed, cool, and away from direct light to slow oxidation across the whole drum. Decant working amounts into smaller airtight glass bottles rather than reopening large containers repeatedly, and keep every size out of reach of eyes, children, and pets. For any skin application, dilute lemon oil to 0.5% to 2% in a carrier oil and patch test first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does per-pound pricing work on bulk sizes?
Price drops sharply as order size grows. The 0.5 oz retail bottle works out to about $444 per lb of oil, while 5 lbs runs $60.49 per lb, 25 lbs runs $44.04 per lb, 100 lbs runs $29.38 per lb, and 400 lbs runs $22.88 per lb, the lowest rate we offer.
Is the bulk oil the same as the retail bottles?
Yes. We bottle one standard of lemon oil, not a separate bulk grade, so the drums you order here are cold-pressed and handled exactly like the smaller bottles and carry the same published Certificate of Analysis.
Which bulk size should I start with?
First production runs testing a new soap or candle line typically start at 5 lbs. Once a formula is set, 25 lbs suits a steady small-batch line, and 100 lbs or 400 lbs fits manufacturing-scale runs that go through oil quickly.
Can I order more than 400 lbs?
Yes, larger quantities are available beyond our listed 400 lb size. Contact us for custom orders and we'll work out pricing and logistics for your volume.
How fast do bulk orders ship?
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days of purchase. Bulk sizes, especially the larger drums, may need extra handling time before they leave our facility. Checkout runs through our Shopify store the same as any retail order.
What's the best way to store bulk quantities?
Keep bulk lemon oil in its sealed original container, stored cool and dark to protect it from oxidation, which citrus oils are especially prone to. Pour off smaller working amounts into airtight glass bottles for daily use rather than repeatedly opening the full drum.
Does lemon oil hold its scent through cold-process soap curing?
Lemon is a volatile top note, so some scent does fade during saponification and the curing weeks that follow, which is normal for citrus in cold-process soap. Many soapmakers pair it with a heavier base note or blend it into melt-and-pour or candle work, where it holds truer.
